Individuals:

Overview of Personal Empowerment Through Emotional Intelligence Program

Mosby Employment Services believes you have value and the capability to have the career and life you desire. In order to reach these goals inherent within yourself, emotional intelligence must be addressed. So, what is emotional intelligence? According to Daniel Goleman in practical terms, it means “being aware that emotions can drive one’s behavior and impact people (positively or negatively) and learning how to manage those emotions.”

Our program uses coaching techniques, interactive exercises and experiential sessions to assist you in understanding emotional intelligence and how to regulate your emotions for success. The curriculum teaches you how to build self-confidence and change negative beliefs that interfere and hinder your growth. Often times, many individuals are told they can’t and will never obtain their dreams. This workshop provides the tools and resources to remove those barriers to success, and helps you become a star performer.

Now more than ever, employers are recognizing the importance of soft skills, or “emotional intelligence” in their employees. According to Daniel Goleman’s best-selling book Emotional Intelligence and Working With Emotional Intelligence, the single most important factor in entry-level to top executive positions is not IQ, advanced degrees or technical expertise, but emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence encompasses self-awareness, self-confidence, self-control, commitment, integrity and the ability to initiate and accept change. All of these qualities contribute to a star performer in today’s workplace.

In this workshop, you will measure your emotional intelligence through a questionnaire assessment of 54 soft skills (For more information about this survey, visit https://www.pairin.com/). The results will help you to understand your strengths and the areas in which you can improve. Through the use of discussions, exercises and assignments, you will address your soft skills and hear from employees about how their soft skills have enabled them to obtain and retain employment and move up in their companies. In addition, you will have the opportunity to speak with employers who value the importance of these soft skills as you utilize your newfound skills in these interviews.
